Not many places can work on a clutch for a stick-shift, but they can. They fixed my Honda Element at a reasonable price for parts and labor. I am very happy with their services and how I was treated as a customer.

I would like to start with saying I am not a big review-poster. But Steve was wonderful and deserves recognition.Last week was not fun for me - I was in a major state upset/worry when my car literally wouldn't move. Of course, my issue occurred after any normal business hours and with everyone I described my issue to, they responded with "sounds like the transmission". So I had my car towed to Madison Transmission upon a recommendation from another car shop who said they wouldn't be able to handle the issue. I had to drop my car and called the next day. Steve was able to look at and diagnose the issue within a couple hours, and gave me a call back. Unfortunately, he didn't have the availability to actually fix the issue for 2-3 weeks, but he had taken the liberty of calling around to other shops for me to find someone who could actually fix the problem. Something even more amazing - they didn't charge me for diagnosing the issue!! Even though Madison Transmission didn't actually work on my car, I am so thankful for Steve doing this minor act of kindness for me because it really saved me stress. You see, I live an hour from the location, but was in the area when my car broke. I was highly stressed about the situation and so worried what the cost of repairs was going to be. Steve helped in a big way, and for that - I am thankful! I will absolutely be recommending MT if I can!

Stay away from these hacks. Couple of rip off artists. Expect to drive in and tow home with additional damage to your vehicle.

Very knowledgeable, I had my transmission rebuilt and new torque convertor installed. Gave me a good price and had to go back because of value issues but they took care of it under warranty. So far no issues would highly recommend them.Service: Transmission repairService: Transmission repair

This was the worst experience with auto repair I've had . These scumbags are truly the epitome of the word crook. Their customer service is horrible. My car was with these idiots for 3 weeks and it was towed away in worst condition than when it arrived at thier shop. The whole experience with Madison Transmission was definitely an exercise in patience and I also understand everyone's experience will not be the same, so, Good luck.Services: Transmission, Transmission repair

In December of 2021 my vehicle transmission was not changing gears as it should also there was a harsh bump when down shifting from 2nd to first gears. I went to one transmission repair shop and was told, after they've driven it around, that the problem could not be fixed until the check engine light come on because there were no codes showing after they used the computer to analyze the transmission. I went to Madison Transmision next, and I was told that I could get it repaired within 4 days. The problem was that by it being Christmas season, I really didn't have the funds for the repairs at that time. I went back to them the first week in February 2022 to have the repairs done and I tell you, this is the last week in April, I have been driven to Jacksonville, Florida twice (from Madison, AL) and my transmission is purring like a kitten. I also must commend the personnel there at Madison Transmission for their excellent customer service. I would recommend this business to anyone that is in need of transmission repair.Service: Transmission

These people are amazing! They are honest and the best price. They were the mechanics I chose after 4 other places told me all sorts of crazy things they thought was wrong with my car!

I had a transmission rebuild done a little over a year ago and it s out again. Come to find out they used a trans cooler clip and wrapped around my pulse width valve to stop it, which is highly unprofessional. Also you can see where they left the valve body pistons in it when cleaning. You can see half the piston was clean and the other half was dirty where it was never removed. They did put a new servo in it for me but that was about all that was properly done to my unit. I rebuilt and cleaned it myself this time and it s better than when I first got it back from this place. Highly unsatisfactory workmanship!

Highly recommend shopping around before choosing this place. Most importantly I dropped my car off and was told I d get a call with a quote before the work was started for approval, I never got that call and was only called once the job was completed and told the cost of the repair. The amount of the repair was on the high end for repairs and definitely warranted a call before any work was done. I d understand if the repair cost was less than 1k but this job was not and I just had to take their word for it that that s what was needed. The owner of the place had the great response to my questioning of why I wasn t called of, well why did you have your car towed here if you didn t want it fixed, and that they can just put my old parts back in it and let me tow it away. Incredibly unprofessional response for the owner of a shop, he could have at least owned up to the mistake and I wouldn t have been as bothered by the lack of communication. Instead he tried to put the blame on me and his front desk employee. If you want a professional mechanic to work on your car do not take it here, if you saw where this shop was and looked you d probably choose to turn away anyway but before you get there take my advice and keep looking for other options.

I was referred to bring my vehicle here by another mechanic ship to diagnose and repair a problem with my vehicle. The car was there for several days and I did not get the problem resolved. I was continuously told that one employee would have to speak to his business partner and then the other way around. Eventually I was told that one thought it was one problem and the other thought it was something different. They then told me to come pick up the car because they were unable to locate the part. I was able to find the part myself, and it turned out to not be either of the problems. My biggest complaint is that they continued to put the blame off on the next person, the poor communication, and the lack of effort to properly diagnose and repair. Even if they couldn't have repaired the car the customer service could've been better.

They took the time to check out my truck. Ran all sorts of computer scans, did a road test, and even out it up on jacks to have a look underneath. My problem was deemed to unrelated to the transmission. They told me what to do to fix it myself or where I could take it. When I tried to pay, he said No Charge. Other shops wanted $50 just to look at it. I have a new transmission shop that will be doing all my work from now on.

Great people! Took a look at the car for free... Another shop said I needed a transmission rebuild/ replacement based off a engine code alone originating from an air intake hose disconnect. Madison transmission said nothing was wrong with the transmission and sent me on my way and told me to come back if I have any issues with the car.

Did a good job, but didn't seal the gasket completely. Corrected, and provided a warranty, but it still raises concerns. Will still likely return for other work if needed.

Nice, knowledgeable, and professional staff.Checked my fluids and refused payment..Haven't run into a business this courteous in a LONG time... I would recommend this business to anyone, just based on this.
