Brake pads AND rotor had to be replaced after 30,000 miles. In the 45 years I have owned cars, I have never had a rotor go bad so quickly. They are obviously using inferior parts (for the rotor at least). Explanation from them was the back brakes needed adjustement yearly to take stain of front brakes. It had only been 2 years and suposedly they adjusted them 2 years ago. They also claimed the car was running rough and the checked the spark plugs and they should be replaced. The car was running flawlessly and the plugs should not have been touched. I did not ask them to. The plugs were 100K plugs that had been replaced less than 10,000 miles ago. This leads me to believe they were trying to pad the bill. Unlikley to use them again. Would have given 1 star, but the work they did was well done.Services: Steering & suspension repair, Brakes

Fast friendly service. Didn't try to sell me stuff I didn't need. Didn't try to repair stuff that wasn't needed. Just a good honest job at a fair price

This place is horrible. They wasted both my time and my money. In February, I went here to have a wheel stud replaced. They said it d take 30 minutes. It took 2 hours, and the workers complained to me about their boss the whole time. A month later, I tried to take my wheel off, and the stud they replaced had the lug nut cross-threaded and the lug nut would not come off. It was also the incorrect type of lug nut for the wheel.I brought it in to have it fixed under warranty. They said they were busy and to bring it back first thing in the morning, and they d do it first. The next day, I brought the car in and there was only one worker there. He said my car was too small for him to fit into and so he couldn t drive it into the shop. He also refused to let me drive it into the shop. He didn t know if anyone else was coming into work that day and told me to bring it in another day. A week or two later, I bring the car in. While fixing the issue, they badly scratched the finish on my new lug nuts that I purchased separately, and they overtightened them to the point that I had to go to another shop to get them removed and re-torqued. I complained to the manager, who claimed he called the owner about my complaint and that he d get back with me. It s been a few weeks and I haven t heard anything back.

This place is amazing. I had a 2012 Honda Accord. I needed to replace oil pan and gasket. Chris did an amazing job working on my car. The pricing is really good. Continue with the good work guys. I will continue to perform my car services with you all .

My brakes were making a noise so I took it in. They checked me out in under 30 minutes and told me everything was good for at least a year. Honest people that didn t try to sell me something I didn t need.

Walked in and got friendly and professional service very quickly with Thad and the Brakes for Less team. Those guys explained the problem I was having with my brakes, showed me the wear, and ultimately I felt very confident that I was getting quality service at a good and fair price. I always appreciate it when somebody takes the time to educate and teach me and also give me some preventative tips for better maintenance in the future. I ll be a repeat customer for sure .Services: Brakes, Oil change

These guys got me in and out quickly. I would have just changed brake pads myself but they had the knowledge to check for more. As OTR hotshot, safety and continuity is important to me.Service: BrakesService: Brakes

Service Advisor was courteous, even showed me what the problem was with my brakes and rotors. Technician was very professional and had that demeanor, you know that look that says" I know my job and I and confident in my skills." Front brake pads and rotors were replaced in less than forty minutes. Price for the repair was reasonable as well. I highly recommend Brakes for Less on Hwy 72 to all my friends. Great experience!

This location will not fix something if they mess it up! I dropped my car off here to get the front brake pads changed around month ago. The service tech called and said my back pads were also worn and asked if I would like to change them as well. I asked if anything else would need to be changed and when they said no; I told them to go ahead a change all of the pads. Then a month later one of my rear wheels was making a grinding sound, so I brought my car back to see what was going on. The store manager tells me that my caliper is messed up and I will need a new one. I asked if that was something they could fix, since there was nothing wrong with my caliper the first time I was there, and the store manager told me that there was no way they could ve messed it up and that they would fix it for $650.00.Service: Brakes

Worst experience I've ever endured by far! These people love to put cheap parts on your car and charge high prices for the service job. I've been going back in forth with them for over a year about getting the service I paid for and still haven't received adequate service yet. Make sure you get a second opinion on any service/repairs that they recommend to you!!

A hidden gem and they do a lot more than just brakes like their sign on Hwy 72 says.I say a hidden gem because I had 4 different engine issues that any other auto shop would have taken a day or so to repair done in just under three hours. That included changing a Serpentine Drive Belt, replacing the Coolant Overflow Container, changing the Power Steering Fluid and an Oil Change. Not to mention checking my brakes and replacing a brake light I wasn't even aware was out. While we waited, a couple of people got oil changes and a couple more had brake work done. Very professional, very nice people and considering it's an automotive shop, their waiting area was very clean looking, more like a nice office verses an auto repair.Free WiFi and there's a McDonald's next door and a couple of other places to eat within walking distance if needed. We had been looking for a local mechanic for awhile and had been to them a year before for brakes. So Brakes For Less is a lot more than just brakes like their sign says and the best part for me was they were affordable. One of the things that really stood out to me was how we were kept up to date and advised of things found while the van was being worked on. There were no surprise or unexpected charges, we were asked if it was something we wanted to fix now and if not what to expect and how long we had to expect before it became a real problem.I really appreciated the honesty and am happy to find an honest company and their mechanics so close to home. Job well done, thanks Mark!

Went in for oil change. Talked to them about battery issue. Explained one place said bad and under warranty at chain competition. Chain said it was good. Brakes for Less tested it for free with computerized tester. It showed bad. Brakes for Less contacted Chain store for replacement battery. Chain store delivered. Brakes for Less installed at no charge. They went above and beyond any expectations. They made me feel more like a friend than a customer. I'm looking forward to a long relationship with them with all 3 of my vehicles. EddieServices: Battery, Oil change

If you plan to use brakes for less, go to the one in Huntsville, not Madison. I got cheated out of over $400 at the Madison location!! (And I honestly believe that they purposely didn t clean and adjust my back brakes like they claimed they did so that my front ones would wear out more quickly!!) I have taken my car to Brakes for Less in Madison twice now. Both times they seemed to be very nice, but charged me a ridiculous amount and never completely fixed my problem! The first time I took my car there, I had to have my front brake pads replaced and the back brakes cleaned and adjusted. The squealing seemed to go away at first, but only a few weeks later the squealing persisted again. I took it back and one of the guys working there told me that whoever did my brakes the first time didn t use lube at all. He also said that my back brakes needed cleaned and adjusted. Again after just a few weeks?!! They obviously hadn t done part of what they charged me for the first time, but they still charged me $100 to fix what should have been done on my first visit! Even after the second visit, my brakes still squealed and my car still had trouble stopping. I finally gave up and took it to another mechanic. He looked at my brakes and said there s no possible way the back brakes were recently cleaned and adjusted. After he finished, my brakes were like new, and my front brakes no longer have to do almost all of the work now. I used to use Brakes for Less in Huntsville, and never had a problem. I highly recommended avoiding the one in Madison!

Customer service is most definitely their #1 priority. I won't go into much detail because it's just to much to write.Thad is who I dealt with during my whole ordeal and must say he went above and beyond to try and fix what the prior owner did when I had major work done that came up to be over $1500 a little over 2 years ago. I would recommend brakes for less for any type of car issues needing handling. If they cant help you, I guarentee they have a place for you that has just as high standards as they do. I dont beleive they would put their name on the line. THANKS THAD for everything you did for me and also for babysitting my keys . Cookies will be delivered ASAP FOR YOU AND YOUR HARD WORKING CREW! ! As hard as you guys work a sugar rush may be helpful. Again, thank you!

Used this service to get my front brakes replaced. Within a year of getting them replaced, they still make a grinding noise when I come to a complete stop. My old brakes didnt even do that. I even took it it after they replaced it to ask them why its making noise and all they had to say was "thats just how new brakes are". Which if it was true, every new car would make a grinding noise when coming to a complete stop. Brake quality isnt very good seeing that I'm going to have to spend another $300 to get them replaced in the future. Their pricing isnt bad, just their quality and them blatantly lying to my face saying that theres nothing they can do to fix my brakes, even if they're under their own warranty. Get your brakes from somewhere else, dont make the mistake I did.Service: Brakes

I knew I had a jeep that needed a four wheel brake job with rotors. I called and left it for them to diagnose and they came to the same conclusion. I looked up the parts cost to see what I could save if I done it myself and found that the parts and labor cost they quoted was spot on. Job was done on time for the price quoted with no hidden gotchas. Definitely would recommend them and will use them in the future.

I've been to this shop 2x. I had my power steering fluid flushed the first time (20 minutes) and a cv axle replaced the second time (2.5 hours), and in both cases they completed the task for the quoted amount in the amount of time they predicted. The manager was knowledgeable and helpful. I get the impression that this shop doesn't try to "find" problems and then beef up the charges.I don't know if they do more complicated surgery, but for what I need, this shop is perfect.

Went in for an oil change, brake pads, and top off of my coolant. Now I ve been going here for 6 years and have never had an issue. These clowns tried to tell me I needed a whole new radiator and new rotors: quoted me ~$650. What they don t know is that Once upon a time I was ASE certified and really only needed the breaks done. Be careful with the big disabled guy he isn t trust worthy.

I brought my car in this morning & the atmosphere is always POSITIVE when I go there , even when the old manager was there(mark ) . The new manager, Patrick ,he is such a nice person , i needed something done that was going to be a little over my budget , but he put a coupon in and it took a bit off , he was REALLY Respectful and helpful. I recommend this business!!!!!!!!!

When I thought my power steering went out my boyfriend suggested Brakes for Less . He had his vehicle serviced by there a few times and became a loyal customer because he swore that they were honest . I found out this was far from the truth.....I ended paying 1441.32 for a part and labor fee that shouldn t have been more than $300-400. I found this out of course after having to take my vehicle to another dealer. Normally I would ve shopped around but again my bf was so set on their honesty AFTER one issue had supposedly been fixed by brakes for less my radio mysteriously went out! and some dash board lights that will not go off that were not on before they of course can t explain to me why only after they service my car do I have these unexplained issues but of course the nerve of them to expect more money so they can fix what they broke .... Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere for good service, a good price, and most of all honesty .

Went in for an oil change and air conditioner. Got the oil change and had a coupon, but the guy added some chump charges to it. If the coupon is for 19.99 then that is what should be charged. To repair my air conditioner - the price quoted was greatly inflated. The price just for the parts was almost 2x more than what is quoted online and at nearby auto parts place. I said I was not getting a/c repaired there. He said if I get a lower quote he would be it. I would not come back there for business. If you have a fair price offer that price up front and you would have had business.

I would give zero stars if I could. My husband sent me to get an oil change on our car. He has always taken the vehicles to be serviced but I was off so he asked me to do it. They usually charge him no more than $35.00 for an oil change but charged me triple that amount $90.25. They charged me more than the dealership charges. People go to places like this to same money not to be scammed. It is ridiculous how they want to charge women more than they do a man but I guarantee I will never bring my vehicles to them ever again and anyone I know that needs work done I will tell hem to find somewhere else to go. They are crooks do not have your vehicle serviced here.
