Not from this area. Broke down on a Saturday evening. Billy's towing recommended this shop. They had my truck fixed Monday by lunchtime. Very reasonable. Quality job. Would definitely recommend.

They are trust worthy, they put a alternator on my 2006 Honda Odyssey and fixed our 2019 Dodge Caravan GT , they installed new struts and shocks . Very fast and very affordable..

Called on a Tuesday to ask when they could look at our 1988 Ford F150. The owner said I could bring it by Thursday or Friday. I drove it there, walked in, said hello and told him I had called and I am here for him to check out the truck. His response was everyone was at lunch and I'd have to come back later. He wasn't polite and he didn't want my business. If you are the owner of a business and a potential customer comes in, shouldn't you be at least friendly? So, I will find a friendly mechanic elsewhere.

My fuel filter had to be replaced. I tried for two hours myself and could not get it off. Called Porters and they said come on in an hour and they would take care of me. They replaced it at a very reasonable price. Had a very rough running motor. They diagnosed the problem. Removed 3 catalytic converters, two of which were completely clogged. Replaced 3 spark plugs,fuel injector, and noticed both of my sway bar assemblies we're missing both top and bottom bushings. Also car was rolling backward while in park. Found the problem and replaced both bushings and no more rolling back. A along the way they showed me the defective parts They are honest , do excellent work at a very reasonable price. Highly recommend Porter's. An honest ,good mechanic is very hard to find..I found mine!!Services: General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic, Engine repair

We were traveling from out of state to southern Alabama for a family vacation with 3 kids and our dog when our alternator died suddenly. We were basically stuck in an unfamiliar area and just started calling around. Lynn was prompt to let us know he could fit us in with zero notice and complete the repair right away, found an alternator and even carried my husband to the parts store to purchase it ourselves and save a little money. They were all so kind and didn't mind our kiddos and dog at all while we waited the few hours for the repair to be completed. His fees were extremely reasonable and we are so very grateful that he was willing to help out our family when we were in a very tight spot.Service: General repairs & maintenance

My Son broke down on his way to Detroit Michigan. Not knowing anyone in the area, I googled automotive shops and was led to Porters Automotive because of the positive reviews. I am very well pleased. This place is highly recommended. Mr Porter and his Wife are very nice, courteous and professional. He fixed the car for a great reasonable price. He called the next day and asked if My Son made it safely to his destination and if the car was driving well. The answer is yes, excellent. There are still good people in this world. Our water pump went out on the interstate at 6 a.m., we explained we were on the way to a job and needed to get back on the road a.s.a.p. They got on our truck as soon as the parts arrived. And had us back on the road very quickly. The mechanics along with the office staff were very helpful and courteous. If we are ever broke down in the area again we know exactly where to go.Service: Engine repair

My Class A motorhome lost a belt on I65, and I was able to make it to Porters. Mr. Lynn was able to squeeze me into his busy schedule, and his guys had it replaced quickly and perfectly and for a very reasonable price. Words cannot express how grateful I am for them. If you EVER need work done in that area, bring it to Mr. Lynn at Porters. You can't go wrong.

Great service. No run around and this is how it is. Straight forward. Fixes what need to be done. Anything ales that is seen wrong. Your notified and if you want it to be done right then not a problem. If you choose for later not a problem. If it will cause you a major problem and you don't want it fixed. They note it your are aware of issue and you sign that you did not want it fixed. Or if you choose to have it fixed they are right on top of fixing it. Great customer service!!

Had my exhaust done twice in the past 6 months and both times have messed up my exhaust and poorly put it on and not very good welding. I have had to take my exhaust somewhere else to get my pipes straight and welded right since then.Service: ExhaustService: Exhaust

I had struts put on , instrument cluster put in, spark plugs, got it back scrapes down the passenger door deep in the metal , scratches deep in the dash and now somethings are dragging told by another mechanic its in the struts brought it back and they did nothing wont be back, don't use this place.
