I am giving 3 stars only because I got a really good personal response from Bridgestone/ Firestone after responding to their survey. I got a phone call today from a Bridgestone/ Firestone regional manager who understood and agreed with my concerns and I believe they will do better in the future.I used this location because they are a recommended installer for Tire Rack (Tire Rack installer support group also responded positively and sent my pictures to Bridgestone Firestone.. thank you)I had a set of tires shipped here from Tire Rack and installed, first new tires on my 2 yr old truck. Tires had never been removed or re balanced. The technician scratched up the inside of all 4 of my wheels, pretty badly, when removing the original stick on balance weights. When I noticed it when I got home, I went back and talked to the person running the store. He was understanding and told me he could not authorize any compensation etc and that I needed to see the store manager on Saturday. So I returned to meet her. At first she denied that it happened at the store. Then she said the technician did everything correctly and showed me an orange plastic scraper, and a metal paint scraper that the tech used, and said these were the tools that Firestone provided. Of course the plastic scraper would have been fine so obviously he didn't use that one, he used the metal paint scraper. Then she said, why are you complaining, you have to get down on your knees to see the scratches. !!!! She had a 100% customer is always wrong viewpoint.Even using that metal tool I could have removed the weights without causing this damage. I sent pictures to Tire Rack and they forwarded to Bridgestone/ Firestone, and they agreed it was unacceptable and that the store needs some education on how to do this job without causing damage.I appreciated the response from both Bridgestone and Tire Rack. The store manager , at least on last Saturday, had a 100% customer is wrong viewpoint. My car is a 2 year old Honda, not a Mercedes or something. But I still care if someone damages it through carelessness or lack of training or whatever the reason. My wheels are a very open 5 spoke design and it is very easy to see the inside of the wheel behind the spokes.I asked for a refund for the mount and balance and finally she gave me a partial refund. It cost me $200 to get 4 tires mounted and balanced, I was refunded $150. $32 of the $150 was for new valve stems that I was charged for but were obviously not installed and the manager had no retort for that. It will cost me about $75 each or $300 to have the inside of the wheels professionally repainted unless I decide to take a day out of my life and do it myself.FYI. The tires are balanced well, no vibration, no excessive tire mounting lube for me to clean up. No scratches on the outside face of the wheels. And, they did perform an alignment and it seems good and the car drives straight and doesn't drift or pull.By the time you read this, this store will probably have been contacted by corporate Bridgestone/ Firestone and you should have a better experience than I did .Again thank you to corporate Bridgestone/ Firestone and Tire Rack for following up with me. I am not asking for anything else from this store, and neither from Bridgestone Firestone or Tire Rack.

Frank is fabulous! Treats a poor customer with my sentimental old not classic or high value car like I am an important client. Mechanic Will is also awesome and friendly and caring. Going to Firestone Oporto Madrid is like taking my baby on a play date. Thanks for being awesome!!

My family was visiting Birmingham from out of state and got a flat tire on Sunday, the day we were supposed to return home. I called several other tire shops but couldn't find any open that had the tire we needed in stock. Luckily, this Firestone shop had exactly one such tire left, and the employee I talked to on the phone said he'd set it aside for us. I was able to get our car towed to the shop later that day, and our tire was there waiting as promised. The crew quickly replaced our flat while my family waited, and we were on our way home within 30 minutes. Highly recommended!

I like these folks and I liked being able to trust them to service my cars. In this case, I bought a lifetime alignment on a 1965 Mercury after I rebuilt the front end. In May '23 they adjusted the toe to be in spec but the caster and camber were still waaaay off. I tried driving the car but have found it to be unstable and unsafe at highways speeds. Brought the car back this week after a harrowing trip to and from Atlanta. Again, they brought the toe back into alignment and insisted that the car would be stable; it is not. I brought it back (3rd time) and was told that the technician cannot adjust the caster or camber. It is unclear to me why that is because there is plenty of room on the upper control arm adjustments. I find it frustrating that a technician does not have the knowledge, skills, or desire to make it right despite the fact that I provided the shop manual with specs and instructions. They issued a refund. I have since found a shop that can adjust it.

I would give zero Stars if that was an option. This Firestone location has lied to be on multiple occasions about my car. The most recent event happened in January where they told me a tire was unrepairable and charged me for a new tire. I forced them to give me the tire which I took to two other Firestone locations both of which told me it was repairable and I had the second location repair it. I would avoid this location at all costs. The manager is strangely off anytime I call or go by to complain.

drop the truck to get alignment done, and the steering was way off and it was pulling to the rightthe second time i when back to the time agreed for me to get it fix, and told me is too late and we have to go home.third time they told me you gonna have to way and we will called you, when wback 3 hours later and they told me if was all good. i looked at the description of the aligmento and all the specs were way off. i asked doesn't seem that the truck is within spect, to which the guy tells me that oh our alignment guy is not here today come back again to get it done. anyone else would have pay for the service to get done and walk away because most people trust a business like firestone to be able to do the job correctly and not plain lie to the costumer face, make them waste time and money.

I have been taking my location here for your YEARS and I think I would stop if Rosie left. Professional, knowledgeable and I feel safe being a woman dealing with her. Frank was good to me too but I don t know him that well yet. My car ALWAYS is fixed correctly and I m always handled with respect.

I came to this store yesterday and would have had to drop off my car which I could not do. I came in this morning, 7am, which is the time I was told to come. I stood outside for 30 minutes with 3 other people and the store still wasn't open.Several months ago, I brought my car in for a squealing brake issue. I was quoted a price for brakes and rotors all around. I had the work done and took my old parts home with me. I did not need rotors or rear brakes.I will find another Firestone to have my car serviced at.

Scheduled appointment day for appt time was 7:30am for tires and an alignment arrived at 7:20am observed people coming and going for a 3 and 1/2 hours, peopled were worked without scheduled appointment, bad from the beginning to the end, kept my cool bit will never use Irondale Firestone again, I am literally disappointed, my vehicle was pulled from the bay and parked behind the bay to accommodate others, the of employment is not a place to cater your friend or nabors, where is the professionalism ?

I like the relationships that I've built with your people working there. Although, I do feel that I was persuaded to make a purchase that could have possibly waited, I don't regret it because now I know that it is repaired and new and that I have a warranty.

I went in for a simple repair and I was taking care of like I was about to spend $1000. Wonderful customer service. They also provided a warm atmosphere in the waiting area.

I was there for 6 hours for an oil change, an alignment, and front brakes changed. With an appointment. Took 2 hours just for the oil change. Was charged 633 dollars. I went elsewhere to another shop to have my rear brakes changed. Bought my own parts for $80. And they were changed for $60, and he was done in 30 minutes. Will never go back here again. When I was there I kept asking when it would be ready, the guy said it would be ready in 2 hours. It was 4 more hours after the two hour oil change. Again with an appointment. In what world does it take 2 hours to do an oil change? Do not go here. They take advantage of you. Save your money. Call around to other places and get prices. They just do not care. And someone at Firestone doesn't need to reply to this comment, you should just give better customer service when we are there, not try and sound caring over a google review. Do better. Actions speak louder than words.

Made an appointment online, and specified I would wait, which was confirmed by the location. I arrived prior to my appointment time only to be told they couldn't take anyone waiting because there was no guarantee they would get to my car that day. I left and went to Pep Boys who did an excellent job and in a reasonable time frame.I have been a loyal Firestone customer for years but quality of service has gone down recently. I will not be back.

The Firestone team always manages to work me in same day, they are professional, and they don t try to sell services to me that I don t need. The prices are competitive, and the service is great.

I ran over a nail and was losing air in my tire. I got to Firestone at 5:55 and I was told by person upfront that they only have 1 guy working and I can leave my car there and they can get to it the next day for a patch? She was not concerned that I might not be able to make it home. Didn t offer to put air in the tire. Just horrible customer service.

Edit:So I took my car back on Friday, at 7am sharp. Frank, the service manager was there, thankfully! He made this horrible situation right! He agreed that both front bearings were going bad and he was able to hear the noice my car was making. He gladly put new bearings, on the front of my car without any additional charge. He was very apologetic and professional. Frank renewed my faith in Firestone and the car mechanic world.Thank you, Frank!I have been a Firestone customer at the Government Street location (Mobile Alabama) for 5 years. I came to Birmingham, for Thanksgiving and on my drive down, started hearing a noice I didn t like and I m fairly certain I have a bad wheel bearing. So I found this location to be near my daughters home and took my car in at 7am sharp as I was told, the day before, when I called them. Got there at 7:00 am sharp, only to find out that I didn t have an appointment at 7am, that was just when they opened. So I tell Frank what s going on and it sounds like a wheel bearing is going bad and I leave my car to be inspected. At 11am, I had not heard from them, so I called them. Frank said they drove my car and didn t hear the noice and that my 2 fairly new front tires were cupped. He said ,that is the noice I m hearing. So I agree, to purchase 2 new front tires, along with changing the rotors because of some slight vibration. Also, had them change the oil while they were at it. Go to pick it up and my bill will $964.67. Didn t even get it out of their little parking lot, and heard the exact same noice that I heard before all the repairs! Sure enough, had my son look into the noice and without a doubt it the front left wheel bearing after all. Today is Thanksgiving Day but bet your bottom dollar they re going to see me tomorrow!! Frank told me they test drove it before and after the repair and afterwards, the noice was gone.

DISHONESTI had taken in a truck, I had just bought, so that they could examine, and give me an estimate for repairs, so they said I had to drop my truck off, so I did. And, without calling me first, they examined, repaired, and handed me a bill of $1,900.00.

The only reason I'm giving 2 stars is: I went online a day before and made an appointment for the next day at 9am. I get there exactly at 9am only to be told that there are 6 cars ahead, so they would get to me as soon as possible. My complaint to them was if I made an appointment why am I required to wait? It was a waste of time to make an appointment. They should really state '1st come, 1st serve ' I left and found another car care which took my car back at the time I was told. I appreciate that.

I had my son take my Chevrolet Equinox down to this location to have a full inspection done on my vehicle about a month ago. Ms Rose stated that she would refund my money after 3 attempts of her mechanic ls not getting the job done and charging for it. He called her today and stated that I was not getting my money back after I had to take it to Edwards Chevrolet downtown to get them to do the job right. I would give it 0 stars if I could. I recommend not taking your vehicles to this establishment

Have used them for a couple of years. Went in for a brake replacement, it was taking time. One of the rotors that came in was not up to their standards. They ordered another. The point is they put safety first. Outstanding.

I had got a set of tires less than 2 months later, I ran over a piece of steel and busted one of the tires. The first service rep said well it's nothing we can do about it because you didn't get road hazard. I said I wasn't offered it, I was offered everything else . So I went back up there a couple of days later and Kevin got me the road hazard and tire. So I am satisfied

I went there this past Saturday for an oil change and to take advantage of my lifetime alignment. When they looked at my car it was recommended that I get a new battery, outer tie rods on my front end and a wheel bearing and they refused to honor the lifetime alignment before the work was done. I was going to get the work done but then I began to think. I bought my current battery a year and half ago and I shouldn't need to get it replaced so soon. I decided to go get a second opinion. I took it to Tire Engineers down the street. The guys tested the battery right in front on me and it registered almost brand new. They then looked at my suspension and everything was fine. So it looks like Firestone tried to take advantage of me and recommend work I didn't need. I ended up purchasing a life alignment at Tire Engineers at a discount so I didn't have to back to Firestone. I will no longer be getting any work done there.

Services is friendly but I'm about to take my truck in to get the same thing "fixed" the third time.Dripping this to a one star from two. After the last fiasco I let them change my breaks. That was a mistake. They've been screeching since the new breaks went on, and somehow they screws up my e-brake which hasn't worked since the visit. I even took it back to let them re-fix it and they couldn't.Never again. There's a reason with over 100 reviews they can't even get to 4 stars. Listen to the reviews. I'll be doing all my business at Green Garage for now on.

Man are they slow (just make sure you're the first person there). I like how thorough they are with advising you on what's wrong with your car (they'll definitely point things out) but OMG they can be pushy about what they think is an urgent problem, and in retrospect maybe you should listen when they are, but at the time I didn't see it that way. They gave me what I call a "pushy" opinion about needing my tires replaced that were less than a year old and still had tread. I got a 2nd opinion that said it was fine, and then later had a massive blowout, so they were actually right, but I didn't appreciate the tone.I still go here when I have the time, b/c they do seem to know their stuff. Like their lifetime alignment too

DO NOT TRUST THEIR DIAGNOSIS!I just purchased two new tires and requested an alignment. They put the tires on and then told me that they were unable to align my front-end and it was going to cost $480+ for a new upper ball joint and a tie-rod end.I'm not a mechanic. But I know that a bad ball joint on a 4runner is highly unlikely. So I took my vehicle to TWO other mechanics. They both verified that there was no problem with the ball joint. I had the second of the two perform the alignment and he was able to do so in about five minutes with zero issues. Also, the guy at the service desk (Justin) was very rude when I asked him to price match some tires. He initially had me sign a work order before the price match, which isn't a big deal. But then he was short with me when I requested to see the price breakdown before handing over my credit card. Rude front-of-the-house staff is bad news for any business.Firestone will not be receiving any more business from me. I will be taking my vehicles to folks that I can trust.
