In June 2021, my Dad passed away and I was given his 2004 GMC Safari.Unfortunately, the vehicle had been sitting unused for approximately 4 years, which meant that it required a lot of work to get it running smoothly again.As someone who hasn't owned a car in several years and isn t originally from AL, I wasn't familiar with the auto repair shops. So when it came time to take my van to a mechanic, I was understandably nervous about finding a reputable one that would do quality work at a fair price.However, all my fears were alleviated once I brought my van to Midas in Homewood. From start to finish, the team there kept me informed every step of the way, providing detailed updates on what needed to be done and why. My van has been a headache for all but even though some small issues have arisen because of the van sitting for many years, Austin, Cody, and the rest of the guys continued to deliver top-notch service each time I showed up. I even brought my mom's car up there when she needed work done, and they took care of her as well.So thank you guys for making us feel so welcomed and for your honesty, integrity, and transparency. I don't know what kinda magic y all got goin' on but I ain't complainin. Good people, good work and we appreciate the fast and friendly service!

I came here to get an inspection done. To my surprise I was literally in and out within 40 minutes. Austin provided great customer service upon entry and departure. A gentlemen name Tyler service my car and made me aware of what was needed to keep the performance in excellent condition. I would highly recommend this facility. Customer service, cleanliness of building, time it took to get done, and follow up was exceptional.

Right now, 2 stars is being generous. My sister took her van there for an alignment on Dec. 2023. In Feb. 2024, returning from Arkansas, she had a blowout 87 miles from her home in B'ham, AL. She had to be towed home.Once there, her van was inspected by another repair service. They reported that the work had NEVER BEEN DONE! She was given printouts of the proper measurements and actual measurements. Almost all the actual measurements were in the Red! A mechanic and the manager at the other shop stated that the only way those could get that way would be to constantly drive through craters in the road. The other shop gave my sister new tires and did the new and proper alignment.My sister returned the van to Midas with the printouts. She told the people there that it rattles as she makes right turns. The staff seems unsure of how to compensate her despite the fact that she paid nearly 3 grand for services rendered. They want to offer free oil changes for a year!I'm extremely upset because my sister could have been killed on the interstate with this failure, and the manager does not appear to be empathetic. Equally concerning is that my 83 year old mother recommended this shop to my sister because of work done to her vehicle. Now I have to question even that.

I purchased a voucher through Groupon for an oil change. I called to make an appointment on Friday. I was told I was all set for an appointment on Saturday @1030 am. When I arrived I was told they could not see me on the schedule. But we continued on with the process. They told me the oil change would take a hour?? I ve never had an oil change take that long. Since I was already there I stayed to have the service done. When my car was taken away the service was stopped because I was told I needed a valve. Not sure what kind because I m not in the industry. They quoted me a bit over $500 and that I could sign up for a service that could cover my charges with 0% interest if I paid it back within 101 days. I considered signing up but I never received the link for it or a link to confirm my appointment that we agreed to reschedule for Monday. I called Monday morning @9:13 to ask again what time was my appointment. Jay told me it had been set for 9am and since I missed it I could reschedule for 1 pm. Well I arrived Monday for the appointment when I arrived I was told again they could not find my appointment??? They told me I could set another one for 4pm. I arrived AGAIN @4. This time I was told I needed to go see my last oil change service provider because there was an issue with my rep tap. Express oil change asked me to come by so they could check for it me. Before I left I asked the employee at Midas for a quote for a new oil pain. I was quoted $790z I arrived at Express and they found no issues when I came to their location. Safe to say the Groupon voucher is a gimmick to get customers in and offer them other services as the main goal. I will never come back.

If I could give zero stars.... I would... WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! I HAD to make an appointment... so I made it and arrived on time... my appointment was for 1:30... They didn't even start my oil change until a little after 4... they drained the oil and then said they didn't have the correct filter for my car... so I had to wait some more for one to be brought...A simple oil change ended up taking three and a half hours... which is just a little ridiculous... wouldn't have minded as much had I not watched all the employees walk around smoking... eating... and playing on their phones...The "receptionist" is so rude... no reason to treat people badly bc yall take forever to do anything...

Aside from scratching all 4 of my rims, the two days it took to install my tires left me with a very poor opinion of this company.Why? Make appointments if you're short staffed?I literally waited in the lobby while multiple customers came in with an appointment. Only to be told that they would not be able to get to them.Wasn't going to leave a review but since she scratched my rooms and made me wait 2 days. I won't be back for anything

Great service . I never had a long wait anytime that I have gone. Every time that I have gone I never felt cheated, misled into a product upcharge, nor did I feel rushed in and out. The people at Midas made sure I understood what was going on with my vehicle. Keep up the great work.

I've always been pleased with the service at this location. I've never been disappointed with the professionalism nor the services rendered since I've done business with this Midas location for the past 15 years or so. Although the management has changed, I am very happy to say that they still rendered the same quality service and excellent professionalism as before the personnel change. Kudos to both Ty and Austin for their exemplary service! Looking forward to a continuation of a mutually beneficial relationship!

Car mats got the Midas touch . Not thrilled. Location is convenient and service has been friendly and fast every time we ve come here, but for a tech to leave our floor mats like this is easily avoidable and unprofessional.Update 2 months later: FYI, submitting the same feedback as above to the link provided below went nowhere. Never heard back.

Worked with me on price and threw in an oil change.Edit 2/19/24Does not appear to have did my alignment as charged, 2 new tires blown out that left me stranded on the freeway and had to be towed for 100 miles. I am beyond pissed.Edit 3/624Apologetic, redid work and warranted everything, can come back if problems with any work. Did not do oil change after all, come at your own risk.

OMG Midas on Greensprings is the worse mechanical shop in town. A couple of years ago Midas put catalytic converters on my 2015 Yukon & every since my truck never ran right. Engine light came back on truck was skipping, & sparkling fire. We had put on machine it's reading needs same thing had a warranty. Took it back Austin & his worker couldn't find out what was wrong with it. They also had my truck for a couple of days , so happens me & my husband rode by there our truck was unlocked, gloved department had been ramble through, & papers was throwed over my truck. Spoke with Austin, only thing he said that had happened before. We don't recommend Midas on Greensprings

went here for an oil change Tuesday evening. Barely drove it Wednesday. Thursday at 5:30 in the morning my oil light came on while on my way to work. I assumed it was a sensor issue as it had just been changed less than two days before, so continued driving for another few miles when my engine died and left me on the side of I-20. Got it towed back to Midas and their mechanic took a look at it and came back to tell me that they did everything correctly when they changed the oil (he showed me nothing, just expected me to take his word for it). But apparently the engine sprung a rod and now there s a hole in the engine block. A total coincidence they say. At least $10k worth of damage, not to mention the cost of towing and missing two days of work and the Uber rides. And they refuse to take any responsibility for this mess. The engine only had 47k miles on it and never had any problems prior to bringing it here. Do NOT EVER give your business to this location or even this company for that matter. They will not even attempt to make it right. Will be contacting the better business bureau about this.

The employee referrred to himself as Cody he was very unprofessional ran up on me like he wanted to fight because he assumed I said a rude remark. I was very professional but Cody was not his Manager was professional but because Cody told me to leave the manager told me to as well. I would not recommend them they seem like they where racist we are in Alabama I m not from here so it was most certainly a bad experience. in conclusion they denied my service after the manager took my information and told me if i dont leave they would call the cops. worse experience ever. need to report them to corporate asap and to the BBB. very degrading experience.

Jay at the front desk is absolutely amazing! Great customer service and everyone there was very friendly and was able to tell me what I needed and what I could use for the future. I highly recommend this place you would not regret it.

I will say as a car shop, they don t get any better than this one. I had gone to another Midas in Florida and they really screwed me over, they was suppose to do my breaks shoes & pads & not only did they not do that, but my breaks went out on me in the middle of a 600 miles trip. So I had my vehicle towed to the Midas in Homewood ( that is 436 Greenspring Hwy. I would like to say this with th utmost appreciation & gratitude They took care of everything, set everything & even fixed the damage caused by the breaks not being done right in the first place by the store in Florida!!!!I told them that they were life savers because U know they really were, I was so Humbled by them that it was refreshing to know that there are still HONEST mechanics that s still out there, Thanks again Guys!!!

I used to really respect Midas; Would recommend it to my friends as a place that was trustworthy to go to. As a single woman, finding a mechanic that you feel doesn t rip you off is invaluable. But the last 2 times I ve been have been awful and I will not be returning.1) This most recent fix, they didn t realize what they ordered didn t have the right part so up-charged their quoted price by $230- but I should be thankful they were able to knock off $50. In general, all diagnostic and price things have felt sketchy.2)They called at 4:30 on Friday and told me to pick it up by 6. I told them that it was too late in the day, I already have plans, and I would pick it up in the morning. They gave me an attitude with me saying they didn t have room to keep my car overnight because of the other cars they had. After surprising me with a $200 charge that was THEIR FAULT, you think they d be willing to keep my car another day. If the car would have been ready at 4:30 I would have gone, I m not unreasonable- but I also don t understand how that was that my problem.3) Went to pick up at 12:30 the next day, feeling bad because I thought I would have gotten there earlier. Well, it didn t matter because MY CAR WASN T READY. I wouldn t have minded if not for the conversation the night before and the fact that they didn t even bother to call me and tell me.4) They tell me they ll call me at 1:30 to give me an update but it should be ready by 2. I have to call them at 2 to get an update. Car still isn t ready but should definitely be ready by 55) Calls me at 5 and tells me to come, but I have plans so I ll say I ll come by Monday to pick it up. The guy on the phone seems really pushy to pay over the phone. To believe the best, he might have just wanted pick up to go smoothly- but in light of everything it felt weird.6) Now I m here, Monday morning and the car STILL ISNT READY. No phone call, no heads up. I m glad I didn t push my plans on Saturday because it would have been pointless.My car is now fixed- so it s not completely awful, hence the 2 stars. These complaints probably seem minimal but this never happened in the 4 years I had been taking the car before. So in summary, they suck now.*update: just kidding they gave me the keys- I got in the car and immediately 3 services lights were on that weren t on before. Turns out the mechanic cracked my wheel sensor but didn t think he broke it. So they are repairing, but it s INSANE that they were going to let me drive off with a cracked sensor in the first place and hope that it would just be my problem later.**update 2: Brought the car back later on in the week because one of the sensor was still broken. After it being there another week Cody finally was able to correct the problem and apologize for my experience. He said, if I decide to come back, to just ask for him. I probably won t, but it s nice to know that someone there is competent.

Dwight is no longer managing this store. That should be all the information anybody needs who has used this location in the past. If you knew and loved Dwight and his crew, brace yourself for the complete opposite. I ve shot off a demand letter to both the store and corporate - hopefully you guys can resolve this and we won't have to escalate the matter further.

This is a great place for repairs as simple as oil change to huge repairs like catalytic converters to tune ups. Austin, Beau and Ty are Awesome guys that are friendly, personable as well as quick and extremely efficient. Austin explains everything so well leaving nothing to question n I SO appreciate his patience with for describing in full detail for me. I will continue coming here for my auto work. They were having a promotion n grilling burgers n hotdogs that I was able to take part in n even received a gift. So Cool!!! Thanks again guys!!!! This is not a review of the work done, but rather their handling of an inexperienced customer. My 20 year old daughter was severely taken advantage of at this location - I am told most Midas shops are now independently owned. She went in for a free brake inspection and left with a bill for over $1,000!!! Whether the work needed to be done or not, it was NOT explained to the understanding of a college student working full time to pay her bills. If she had been shown and/or told the estimated amount, you can bet she would have called a parent first! I hope they improve to ensure that ALL customers are informed to full understanding in the future.Service: Brakes

Don t go here! If your car does not have a blindingly obvious issue, they will not be able to help you. I felt so gaslit by their employees. They kept telling me that my car wasn t throwing codes and that it was running great. However, BOTH times I got my car back from them (after I paid $600 for them to fix the problem), my car would have the same problem. Additionally, they kept recommending things to me based off of mileage that I know were recently done to my car. They don t look at your car s maintenance history before recommending services which is so sleazy. This is not a trustworthy business.

I bring my son car because the AC doesn t work, there said is the compressor my car was 2 day then they call me is something else, they give my car back with the AC not work + a extra light in the dash and charge 1460.00 I went so depressed after take my car to this place I m a single mother my ingles is no the best but I for sure they just cover their inexperience they have, and then they send me to Hoover location and there said is something I don t know who explain and 390.00 and after that said is the condenser so told not change because they not have a Idea what is the problem, I m really sad because that car is very important for me my son help me to carrier my Kids to school and in this place just make more damage on the car. Also they not put back correctly the plastic cover the tires to the motor no get dirty when I drive home the plastic just fell, I was crying like a Kid and now when my son drive the car has issues that no have before I take to this place I don t know if that will make something bad on the car
