Fantastic service and straight up folks here. Shane took care of my mom s transmission without hesitation tell us exactly what the problem was and got the rebuild done within four days. Sad day, I wish we didn t have to do it but very glad we found the shop.

I took my Toyota Tacoma in because the truck was shuttering when it shifted. They said there were no fault codes. However the transmission needed to be replaced for a cost of $4500. I took it to another mechanic in Dothan Alabama for a second opinion, and all he did was change the fluid and all the issues stopped. Mr Transmission was going to screw me for a new transmission at a cost of $4500!

Straight shooters. I had my car towed in for evaluation. They ran a full diagnostics on it, called me back with their assessment and honest opinion on the next steps/options. Here is the kicker- it did not include using their services nor did they charge me for the diagnostics. I appreciate their honesty in their abilities and doing what is right for the customer versus just trying to get money out someone. That is a business practice that is getting rare to find nowadays.Service: Transmission

Traveling through Dothan on the way to PCB and experienced an issue with our front end and smelled something burning. Mr Scott and his head mechanic (didn t get his name) drove it and ran the diagnostic check. Couldn t find any issues (probably driver issue). They were very nice and made us feel better about continuing our trip. Thank you so much!!Service: Auto engine diagnostic

DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE HERE. Let me preface by saying- this is one those places that is unethical in today s world - trying to feed on people who aren t educated and who don t have an understanding of drivetrains. I arrived at Mr. Transmission with my 2000 Jeep Cherokee. Upon arrival, I was met by a store manager and a mechanic. The store manager asked me a couple of general questions while the mechanic plugged into the computer. A few codes popped up on the monitor and the store manager proceeded to tell me that I needed a new transmission and that it would cost $3,800. I asked, how can you be so sure based on the codes that had popped up? To which he replied - I ve been in this business a long time . No one drove my jeep or asked me enough questions for me to feel confident in his response. They turned around and went back in the shop and closed the garage door behind them. I found another place in town called Transmatic Transmissions. I called them up- they said bring it over we will take a look. Upon arrival there, one of the mechanics (Eric) hopped in and we took it around the block. Eric was very honest in saying that he was unsure what was causing it but he would do his due diligence to figure out what was causing the shifting issues. He made no guarantee or promises and he was honest in telling me that he would have to drop the pan and take a look. They discovered that my wiring harness had fused together from time and engine heat causing the transmission shifting issues that I was having. The wiring harness is a sub $100 part. It just goes to show that the guys working at Mr. Transmission have one thing on their minds. Take it to Transmatic, those guys are honest, trustworthy, and dependable.Service: Transmission

Had my Jeep Commander in the dealership for 3 1/2 months trying to settle with insurance company for damage caused by towing company. When I finally settled the dealership wanted me to pay upfront the cost of parts, somewhere around $4000. I took it to Mr Transmission, had it fixed for $2300 less than the dealership and was treated great by Scott. Now if it holds up I will be one happy camper.

They easily identified and replaced a front axle for a very fair price!I tried diagnosing a bad vibration in the front end for months. I replaced 4 of 5 engine mounts and the vibration was still there. I took it to another shop and they replaced one axle, and it didn't fix the problem. Scott (from Mr. Transmission) drove the vehicle with me and I was able to explain the problem, which he identified as the other axle. He was easy to work with, honest and timely. Highly recommend them and will go back...but hopefully won't need to!

First of all, if it was possible to leave a 0 I would. Second, these people obviously think we are fools. After getting the truck back on March 30 we have had to replace at least five starters. Come to find out the problem is the flex plate, which is a part that is SUPPOSED to be inspected to make sure it is in good working condition, prior to returning the truck to the customer. This part IS IN FACT a part that is affected by working on the transmission. Now they tell us that even though it s not their fault they will only charge labor if we buy the part to fix it $500 more worth of labor. Now if it s not their fault then why fix something they didn t break. Just beware if you take your vehicle because you may end up like us. Vehicle that still won t run and $3600 in debt. Also don t believe their add for free towing with all major repairs. Even though it s not stated on their webpage it s only free towing up to 40 miles but they won t tell you that until after they ve already towed.

Took my 2003 Toyota Rav4 in with transmission problems, would not shift into 4th. Gear. Was told the transmission was bad and would cost $2195.00 to repair. Took it to Advance Mechinics and told the Service Manager the problem. He said they were backed up for at least at a week. I told him I had done some research on this vehicle and the research said there was usually a problem with the ECM Modgule and if they worked on it they would have to take it to the Toyota Dealership and have it reprogrammed. To make a long story short I sent the ECM Module to a company in Buford Georgia and had it repaired at a cost of $75.00 plus $15.00 shipping for a total of $90.00, now the Transmission works like a charm. A long way from $2195.00.

On April 4, I was cruising along 15 miles south of Dothan, Alabama heading back to Iowa City, Iowa when the transmission in my 2010 Dodge Caravan totally locked up to the point it stalled the engine and the van would not move...the nightmare for a 70 year old couple in a strange state. I asked the kid who drove the tow truck "If I was your uncle, where would tell me to take your my car for transmission work?"He said "My dad always went to Mr. Transmission." I told him, "That's where we are going."They were very professional, getting the car in immediately and quoting me a price that was a large sum to rebuild the 6 speed transmission. Scott said they could start that afternoon, put me ahead of a couple jobs and get me back on the road in a day or two at the most. I had no choice so we shook hands. In private I called the transmission dealer in Iowa City with a great reputation and asked if the price was reasonable. The answer was yes, right in the ballpark.I am now back in Iowa City. We were on the road by 4:00 the next day and the car has run perfect since.Thank you to all the staff, especially Scott. You helped greatly to make an initially frightening experience into a seamless 24 hours where we felt supported and in good hands.Admittedly, I held my breath the first few hours after leaving Dothan. But here we are back home for two weeks and the tranny is smooth as silk. Thanks again, Ted and Yvonne
