My son was driving from Tuscaloosa to Auburn and had a tire blowout. Unfortunately, he did not have tire tools in his car after changing a tire last summer. He got towed to Southern Dixie Auto Repair via AAA. A kind man, who I will assume was the owner, changed the tire at 8:30pm on a Sunday night without charge. As a concerned father in another state, who was happy to pay, please accept my sincere gratitude! There are many good people in this world, whether or not you see it on TV and social media.

Sent car in for front end vibration, which Inthought was a tire out of balanced. Turnout out brakes were bad and contributing to the problem. They checked with me first, provided a reasonable quote, ordered the parts, and had me fixed up in just a few hours. I m extremely pleased with the service and will recommend them to friends and family.

I highly recommend this business's!Thank you Jeremy! He took great care of us and our vehicle. Last night we were heading home on 65N and had a freak accident resulting in our truck s back tire literally breaking off and the truck s axle caught fire. We were left stranded and shook up. We were referred to Dixie Towing by a local police officer. They immediately came out and helped us every way he could.

Last week I took my car to have it checked at Southern Dixie Auto Repair for suspension issues. I told them what was going on and how my car felt unstable, swayed at high speeds, and that it bounced and made a pop noise going over bumps. I paid them $98 for diagnostic to be ran just for them to lie to my face and tell me that my car had no suspension issues and that my brakes and rotors were metal on metal and that I needed new tires. I took it there because they are local and I was scared to drive it so far to the dealership. Today I brought my car to the dealership and found out my car has bad ball joints, bad struts that are leaking fluid, and I need an alignment. They are liars here and scammed me for $100 that I didn't have to give someone. Do not trust these people.

Overall one of the most pleasant tow truck experiences I ve ever had made possible dude to Mr. Jimmy! I was passing through coming from Florida and had a radiator hose blow on me at 4 in the morning. Mr jimmy picked up and was able to get me off the road an hour later and was also able to assist me in repairing the problem. God bless him and the company!

** in response to the reply, I am aware of the situation and I m very sorry that he is sick. BUT it does not give ANYONE the excuse to lie, blame customers, or lead people on. There is absolutely no reason for how this was handled. It would have been very easy to have told me you have no diesel mechanic when I called or even dropped the truck off. Or to have even had the courtesy to call once you supposedly looked at the truck. And then to have owned up to the fact that the problem that I was having got worse while the truck was in your possession. I would have handled this situation very differently had someone just been honest. But since no one can seem to be honest in your place of business, I will be leaving my reviews up to warn everyone just what type of business you all are running in the owners absence.Do not. And I mean DO NOT, take your vehicle here.I have had work done on my diesel truck here in the past and they were fantastic, but I had a very different experience here this past week.I called Monday morning at 8am and asked if they could look at a problem I was having with my diesel truck. They said they could and to bring it in. I immediately got up, had someone arranged to come pick me up, and drove and dropped my truck off. When I got there I explained the problem that I was having and asked them to also change the oil while I was there. They said that would be fine and they would let me know in just a little while what was wrong with the truck.Fast forward to 230PM, I had not heard from them so I called and asked about the truck. I was told the tech was at lunch and he would return my call. 330PM and a tech called. At this point I was informed they did not have a diesel mechanic and I would have to take my truck elsewhere to be looked at. I was told they really didn t have time to look at it and just didn t know what was wrong. Possibly had an exhaust leak and something was wrong with the turbo cooler. But remember, they didn t have time to look at it.So now I had to scramble to find another ride to go pick my truck back up. I just had a diesel truck worked on here just about a month ago, so I knew they worked on them. No one informed me that they no longer had a diesel mechanic and just sat on my truck all day and were not going to let me know anything about what was happening.When I arrived to pick up my truck, I was given the keys and as soon as I started to drive I could tell the truck was in considerably worse shape than it was before. I had to drive with my hazards on to even get to the next repair shop that actually had a diesel mechanic. I called and spoke to the supposed manager of the shop and he, in so many words, called me a liar and told me that what I was hearing and experiencing in the truck was happening when I dropped it off.Just a word of advice, I would not do any business with these people. They are far from honest and messed up my truck worse than when I dropped it off. I ended up taking it to Johnnys and they were fantastic and my truck will never go anywhere else now.

I can t express enough how kind and helpful Jeff was. We were 10 hours from home and we re in a horrible accident. Jeff came with his wrecker to tow what was left of our truck and trailer, he offered to take us 20 minutes out of his way to a hotel. He told us on the way that he was getting married in just a few hours, yet here he was helping us. The kindness he showed to us during this trauma was over and above what he needed to do. He even gave us all a hug because he knew we were so shook up. Thank you again Jeff!!

I HIGHLY recommend Southern Dixie Auto Repair. I can t say enough positive things about their incredible kindness and customer service.I m from out of town, and my check engine light started flashing while on I-65 on a Saturday afternoon. Hours away from home, I called several auto shops in the area, but no one answered. When I called Southern Dixie, they answered immediately and told me to bring it in. They met me immediately and checked on my engine, even though it was almost 2 hours after their close of business. Then, they didn t charge me and wouldn t take my money when I tried to pay them anyway. All they asked for was a positive review online!If I could give them 6 stars, I would. I am completely blown away by their work and their kindness to a complete stranger. I m not sure what I would have done if they hadn t helped me out. Please go to them for all of your auto repair needs! They re a good business and just good people.Service: Auto engine diagnostic

On September 8th, 2023 we began our 2023 family vacation traveling from the Florida panhandle toGatlinburg TN. Three hours into our journey our vehicle develop mechanical issues. These issues required us to get off the Interstate and thankfully we were able to coast into a nearby parking lot. Shortly after we came to a stop another vehicle pulled in behind us. We asked the people if they were from the local area and if they could recommend a trustworthy and honest car maintenance and repair place nearby.They immediately and enthusiastically recommended Southern Dixie Auto Repair in Clanton, Alabama. Which, was only a mile up the road from the parking lot we just pulled into. We were able to get the broken vehicle into the parking lot of Southern Dixie Auto Repair in just a matter of minutes.Amazing team at Southern Dixie Auto Repair...we primarily dealt with team members Carl and Robbie. They were super helpful and so kind and accommodating as they helped diagnose and chart a path to our vehicle health restoration. Thank you so much Southern Dixie Auto Repair. We were so blessed to have you help us in our time of need. We only missed one of our vacation days!!!

Robbie Donnie and Carl were very helpful with my situation. Me and my family were headed to gulf shores. When my truck broke down. Even though it was fully packed she still found time to get me worked in. They fix my truck within a matter of no time. The mechanic knew what it was right away. After they finished what they were doing, they immediately started working on my truck. They even checked all my fluids and topped them off. I greatly appreciate everything for me and my family. I would recommend them to everyone.

I met Robbie and right away I knew I was in the right place. Not only did they invite my huge dogs inside to sit on the couch and love on them (pitt and doberman) we sat in the A/C while they fixed us all around. Checked all fluids and all tires even on the trailer. I felt completely taken care of even tho I was only here for one front tire on the Tahoe! I was on the road alone and couldn't speak more highly of the owner Jeff and his attention to that fact! Great place to go and good honest people!Service: Tires

We were on our way to Birmingham from Andalusia and while on the interstate our front left tire started shredding. My mom and dad found Southern Dixie Auto Repair on Google and saw it was pretty close to the interstate so we went there. We called the number to make sure they were open and Jeff told us they were closed but to give him a few minutes and he would be up there to see if he would be able to help us. He was able to get us a new tire and back on the road in no time. The BEST experience I ve ever had getting tires! Will definitely make the drive back up there when it s time to get more tires!!Service: Auto tire replacement

I highly recommend using this business if you re in the area. We had a blow out on our camper, on a Sunday. The owner was closing up shop but waited on us to get there. He not only replaced the damaged tire; he also replaced all of the tires and it 97 degrees outside ! 8/27/2023! Thank you from the bottom of our heart.Service: TiresService: Tires

Just imagine you are driving 7 hours to the beach with your wife and kids on Sunday. You hear a pop and now you have a flat tire on the interstate. You call every tire place and they are closed. You tip toe on your thin spare to all the walmarts in town and they have tire and no techs to put it on. It is now after hours, all hope is lost and you take a shot in the dark and call a closed wreckage shop 40 minutes away .. SOMEONE PICKS UP! The person on the phone owns this wreckage shop and is spending time with his family. He says, I can fix your tire, no problem! The words I didn t think I would hear. Not only does he put on a new tire, but at a deal! This shop is a place I would take my car even if it wasn t an issue, the service was amazing, the place was clean and the hospitality was impeccable. I highly recommend!Service: Tires

Where to start...I will start with how Robbie and Donnie are AMAZING people. We had a catastrophic engine failure a few miles North of Clanton on I65N. Robbie worked with my warranty company every step of the way and stayed in touch with me as I live over an hour away. Once they claim was approved, and the new engine came in, Donnie had the new engine in and purring like a kitten in no time. I would or should of been angry over the situation with my car that day. It was something about how they handled, rather comforted me during the process that gave me peace of mind. Robbie and Donnie, I cannot thank each of you enough!!

It could be divided into four different types:�outright lying, manipulation of reality. Need I say anything else? You don't want to deal with her... I call this lying.

Wonderful service!!! They picked up my vehicle, fixed it, and returned to me in under two hours so that I never had to miss a minute of work. My issue was completely resolved. I am more than satisfied with my experience and the service received they even changed the battery on my key fob. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

AMAZING PEOPLE, PLACE & REPAIR!! My car broke down as I was driving back to Kentucky. I called Southern Dixie Auto, they towed my car, prioritized me,fixed my alternator and had me back on the road in under 2 hours. Robbie, Jason & Jeff - THANK YOU ALL OF YOU SO VERY VERY MUCH!!

The owner answered my call at 7:45pm on a Sunday. I had blown a trailer tire out 25 minutes from his shop and he waited the hour it took me to get there didn t charge me any extra just stayed late to help. He not only had the tire but I bent the wheel pulling the trailer with a blowout and he had a wheel too. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone in need of tires.Service: Tires

Customer service and helping people in need seems to be Southern Dixie's M.O. I was in a bind and needed tires replaced badly. They were actually supposed to be closed for the day and they decided to stay and help me out. This was after 4 other tire repair shops in town had turned medway because they were also closing. Sometimes it's not about the money. It's about building friendships with the people and actually caring about their individual needs. Southern Dixie Auto Repair gets my five stars and I will recommend them to everyone else I know just for the simple fact that they really do care about helping people. Our suspension gave out on the way from Florida to Ohio on a Sunday which was also Mother's Day. Local folks suggested calling Jeff at Southern Dixie Auto Repair. Jeff recommended a good hotel and told us he would give us first priority early Monday morning. True to his word, he had our car diagnosed, parts ordered and back on the road the next day. Truly amazing since parts are not so easy to find for our car. Friendly and efficient, they kept us informed and provided a ride to our hotel and recommendations to eat. Everyone in the area treated us like we were family rather than strangers. Thanks to Jeff, Robbie, Frank, and any other mechanics who worked on our car and got us back on the road with a minimum delay. They are the best.Service: Steering & suspension replacement

We just had a tire hit a bolt on the highway and the tire went completely flat at 10 o'clock at night. We pulled over, called Jeff based on a local recommendation and he left his home and met us at the shop and repaired the tire and get us right back on the road. He didn't have to leave his house to come in and help us this late at night, but he did anyways, because he's just that type of guy. Could not recommend him more. Great guy!!

Got stuck on a curb. Called them on a Saturday and Jeff arrived sooner than told and did a great job getting car off the curb with no damage. I was traveling from New York to Florida. I found myself miles from my destination when my vehicle started acting up. I pulled onto an exit. I found Southern Dixie 's number on Google. The owner insured me that they will pick me up and take care of my car. The poor tow driver tried to find me after he had traveled about 50 miles to my destination. I wasn't sure where I was. They dropped me and my things at a nice motel a mile from their garage. The next morning they called to tell me the diagnosis and went right to work with my approval. It was done that afternoon and they picked me up to get my vehicle. Awesome service friendly service very professional. I would recommend to anyone in a similar position. The whole staff is very professional and friendly.

This repair shop is top notch. My daughter and her friends were involved in a fender bender on the way home from the beach. Soon after, car wouldn't drive and they were stranded on interstate. We found this shop via a Google search, read the reviews, and called. Angel and Larry are absolutely wonderful people. Towed the car promptly, dropped the girls off at a local hotel, and had it all repaired in 24 hours, despite not having the parts on hand. Larry kept us updated and said he wanted to be thorough so we could be confident they would make it home safely. He even delivered the car back to the girls at their hotel. Thank you so much Angel and Larry---the girls made it home and the car is running great.

My family and I were heading down to Panama City Beach for weekend getaway. As we re driving down the I-65 south, my car tire busted. We had roadside assistance to help us out spare in. We didn t want to take the chance to drive to PCB with a spare. As we were waiting to get the spare tire put in. My and wife and I called Southern Dixie Auto Repair. Mrs Robbie picked up the call and told us come without an appointment and she would take care of us. When we got there, my family and I were treated with the kindest and very supportive service. Mrs Robbie went above and beyond to help us, she even gave hooked us up with with a tire they had carried and it was the only one they had. We did get the tire out in but we were told another tire was in a bad shape and needed another tire for that replacement. So the gentleman named Nathan, also went above and beyond to help us with just that. He had already helped with our first tire. So, We asked to check our other tires and he explained to us how the other tire was really out of shape. Therefore, he went above and beyond to help us to drive to another shop to buy a tire and come back to replace the other tire in. He did just that. My wife and I couldn t be more thankful. These people treated us like their own and were really supportive. I can t thank them enough. Our trip started out bad with the car incident. But after we took the car to this auto repair, they rejuvenated our mood for the trip. Thank you Mrs Robbie, Nathan, and the team. God bless y all! Really great service here! On a Sunday I was headed out for a road trip and noticed a tire puncture. I called on a whim hoping they could help. The owner answered, said they are typically closed on Sunday for these fixes but told me to come on in. He took quick care of me, and I was on my way again in 40 mins. Just awesome service.

We Had car trouble on our way home to Tuscaloosa and stopped here for help. These were the nicest, most helpful people who ran a diagnostic and got us fixed up enough to get home safely. They told us what the problem was and that the repair shop here could call them for the codes and information when we got it into the shop for the actual repair.
