I cannot recommend this place highly enough. Mikel is awesome and his team always gets the job done right. I ve had some odd/rare issues with my car recently, and Mikel has been able to figure out the problem each time. It s a huge relief for me to be able to leave my car in hands I trust, and I ll keep coming back to M&B!!!

The absolute best. Went above and beyond. Was helped by Michael and other members of the crew. Very professional and helpful. Gave a great price for effort put in and got my car done and out the same day. Also gave great explanations over the phone as to what was wrong and what was done. My truck broke down on HWY 280, I had my 7 month old with me. Between having the car towed, and trying to find a place to take it, getting a ride, making sure my kid was taken care of, Michael moved some stuff around and was able to take my truck in and work me in his schedule. On July 24, 2023 had clutch replaced on my 2016 Nissan Frontier 4x4. It has now been over 500 miles without issue. They were willing to work with me when others either didn't won't to do the job or just gave me a ridiculous quote on the work. Which I'll admit that replacing the Clutch a Nissan 4x4 is not easy.Their price was reasonable and fair.Service: Transmission

Big shout out to Mikel and his crew. Called Mikel and told him about my truck and ask him when would be a good time. I work out of this truck so when it's down so am I. I shared with him that some friends of mine were on vacation and I could use their truck but they would be back on Sunday. This was Tuesday and he said to bring it in Wednesday and he said he would try to look at it as he was going to be out of town Thursday and Friday. Got there about 9 and he was covered up so I didn't see anyway that he could get to me and I understood that. Around 2 I get a call from him and he had identified the problem and less than an hour later my truck was fixed and ready to go. That my friends is SERVICE. Something that seems to be lost with most businesses today but not this one. I will be highly recommending Mikel and his guys in the future. We were traveling back to WI from Gulf Shores and experienced car trouble the Saturday night before Easter. We found a hotel and first thing Monday morning I called Mike based on great google reviews. He checked out my vehicle right away and figured out the problem. Within an hour I was on my way. He was very professional, polite, and reassuring and his shop was very nice and clean. And he didn t charge me a penny for the diagnostic. I cannot say enough about M&B Transmission. I highly recommend this business!!!

Like I said before , you're better off going to someone else because this mechanic is sorry and lazy ...& To the owner : You're correct , "can't" and "won't" are two different things but like I said before , if you don't know how to do service on a transmission then you should rename your shop because it is very misleading , kind of similar to false advertising lol ... I would respect and have more understanding if you would have AT LEAST looked at the car but you didn't make any attempts AT ALL ... You diagnosed the car through the phone , you didn't attempt to even put your eyes on it or do anything physically. It's definitely no problem, my money is VERY good and the actual dealership will be repairing it August 1st but it is most definitely my right to rate your lousy , sorry business .I will pray for your business and hope that you can elevate and provide better service to any customers after meService: Engine repair

Tried to use this business 5 mins ago.. Called.. They answered "M&B transmission" I say "Hey, do you rebuild them?" He says "Rebuild what?" in a very Karen-ish tone.. I say "Transmissions" then he says "Umm, for what? a go kart, a car or a???" So right off the bat this person has created a divide between the customer with cash in hand for repairs, all for what? I try to get a price for a full trans rebuild and he said "There are too many variables".. How many variables are there on a FULL REBUILD? I'll answer that... NONE!! JUST FULLY REBUILD IT. I literally took his snakiness until I couldn't anymore and hung up. I called 10 shops and THIS was the only one to try and make me feel stupid.. What kind of business practice is that??? I will take my money to the people who actually try to be friendly and want to do the work.

DISHONEST at the least. I bought a used car that had recently had a used transmission put in by this company. The receipt (from previous seller) said it was under a parts only warranty for 6 months. The car has been acting up and making a noise. I was told by a mechanic to have the trans pump checked out. I took it to M&B where the owner gave me the run around but finally agreed to look at it. When the owner told me the trans was working (assuming he even looked at the car) and that I probably just needed to have it flashed at the dealership, I specifically asked if the pump and fluid had been checked. He said it had. Well well, today (5 days later) at the Subaru dealership, they say it was 4 quarts low on trans fluid. Cost me $$$ to have it diagnosed and taken care of when I should have never had to deal with this. The previous owner paid 4,500.00 this past May for a used transmission. You would think that it would work well and have the correct fluid in it. I wouldn't recommend this company or trust the owner.Service: Transmission

5 service. These guys are great. I had a issue with my transmission shift linkage at 10am . They resolved the issue by 3pm. Even though they were busy , the guys worked me in. Truly honorable people

Absolutely the BEST. These guys are wonderful. We had a transmission that was slowly dying. When it finally went totally out we called around to get an idea of cost, time, etc. I heard a lot of BS from a half dozen other places. Then I talked to Michael at M & B. Totally straight talk, no BS. Good advice all the way around. Put a factory remanufactured transmission in with a great warranty. Because it is GM factory remanufactured, the warranty is honored wherever and whenever we may need it. Took the vehicle in one morning and got it back the next afternoon! Truly awesome service. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Took an 07 Expedition to Mikel at M & B after having it looked at by a Ford Dealership. Mikel knew exactly what the problem was after one conversation with him. The quality and value of their work is matched by the integrity of Mikel and his team. I was never sold something nor was I recommended something I didn't need. Outside of a simple oil change, this shop will be getting all of my auto repair business.

Had a shifting issue with my Jeep Wrangler and decided to try M&B after checking reviews. Google did not disappoint this time... And neither did this shop. I was expecting to need a full rebuild but the guy took it for a test drive, determined the governor was stuck and fixed it in about 30 minutes. I will definitely use this shop again. Thanks a ton!

Took my 03 Tahoe in to check a noise in the front end. Michael diagnosed my vehicle for free although he couldn t find the exact problem. Anyway a week later I had a coolant leak and took my Tahoe in again. They had the problem diagnosed(water pump failure) and fixed within a couple of hours. Quality service for a fair price and great customer service. Would recommend

This place was great! They were quick, professional and reasonably priced! Being a young female I dread having my car in the shop. Not only was everyone respectful, they didn't pressure me into any unnecessary services. I highly recommend this place!

As a woman going into a shop of this kind can sometimes be intimidating. The crew here was just the opposite. Very respectful, knowledgeable and made me feel comfortable. They fixed my car quickly and explained everything from beginning to end. Absolutely recommend this shop!!

Absolutely Fantastic Service!My wife and kids were stranded in Birmingham, AL. The transmission when out while traveling to the downtown Sheraton on a Friday night. While I was over 270 miles back home I was imagining the worse case scenario. After taking care of the immediate need of getting my family safely to the Sheraton I searched the next day for a repair location and found M and B Transmissions. Tried contacting them on a Saturday morning when they were closed. Left a message and received a prompt call back from John (Great Guy). He ensured me he would get on the situation first thing Monday morning. He did just that. My car was picked up and moved to his garage and diagnosed Monday afternoon. The rest is history, the issue was quickly resolved to get me back on the road. A few bumps with the warranty company but John personally called and sorted things out.

Me and my lady broke down coming from Texas to Tennessee. Turns out the transmission blew up. One call to M&B and Josh came and towed us back to the shop, brought us to a hotel in the area, worked on the jeep, picked us back up from the hotel, and had us back on the road the very next day with a guarantee on the transmission at a phenomenal price. If I could give 10 stars I would. Never had service like this from any mechanic shop. I can't say enough positive things. Thank you guys so much. Also, Maddi is my sunshine on a cloudy day. <3

Mike is fantastic. I am a "car guy" and VERY picky about where I take my cars and who works on them. I have spent thousands with Mike on a single vehicle. M and B Transmission handled our RV repair professionally and very timely. We had transmission problems while traveling through Birmingham and were towed for repair. M and B was able to get us back on the road quickly for us to continue our vacation. The technician took time to explain the problem they found and how it was resolved. We highly recommend this business.

We moved across the country from the PNW to Birmingham in 2005 and were having car problems. We had cycled through several dealers, small shops, and chain shops trying to find a repair shop that was honest, competent, and affordable. Through word of mouth we eventually found the owners of M and B Transmissions who used to operate another shop in Birmingham and now are at 462 35th St N. I give M and B my highest recommendation for those looking for car work. They can handle everything from transmission work to buying tires and getting an oil change. These guys do it all and do it well. A common theme you will see from these Google reviews is the honesty and competency of this shop. A simple explanation for this is there work ethic and decency. Give them you car and let them fix it. You will not be disappointed.
