Do Not Take Your Car Here!!! I took my car here for an alternator, and the guy tore up my radiator . Refuse to fix it, until I had to threaten him with the law . They put the radiator in wrong, which blew up my motor!!!

Don't ever go here!!I went herewith my truck winch motor to get parts so i could rebuild it.A used brush holder was installed. I told them I did not want anything installed.They also had my motor 3 months trying to find solinoids, which they never aquired..I did not want the motor fixed, I wanted the parts so I can rebuild it.They tell me I did want the parts installed.Then they tell me it's 60 dollars for the used brush holder and an additional 60 dollars for the (10 minute) installation.I showed them a brand new motor is 119 dollars on the internet.I refused to pay for the service I received.They told me to leave there shop and that they are keeping my motor.Plus they kept my solenoids for my winch motor!I'm going to do business with Southern Armature in Birmingham, I had a great business transaction with them previously.BUYER BEWARE!!!

BUYER BEWARE!!! HORRIBLE SERVICE!!!! I wish I would of read the reviews before they ripped me off. Believe the reviews. Took a lawnmower starter there and clear told them I wanted to diagnose. The fixed the starter and And told me $150 triple the amount to buy a new one at $39. When I complained about the price over the phone, he cut it down to $60. When I got there he called his boss and back to $150 the price went and he then told me he never said $60. Bessemer Police was called and after questioning they said that the guy is clearly ripping people off after his story didn't add up after numerous lies, but unfortunately they couldn't take the starter away because it was a civil matter. Take your time and money and go to Southern Armature Downtown Birmingham! Really honest trustworthy guys. Learn from my mistake.

The only, the only reason I gave one star is to write this review. Do not go to this place it's a rip off. I was told they would look at my car then call me and tell me what's wrong with it and how much it would cost . I ended up calling them and they tell me they fixed it . The price was way to high and when I told them that they didn't want to release my car. First of all you said you would call before fixing. Total scam

Hands down the only place I go for starter or alternator work. These guys have been in business for years. Remember going up there with grandfather for parts as kid. Extremely knowledgeable and quick turn around time on rebuilds. Would recommend them to anyone.

Save your time, your money and go to O'Reilly. They did not replace voltage regulator or bearings and had the alternator for 10 days and still had to wait 2 hours to get a clutch. Do not go to Chancey's. Totally bogus place.

Chancey's is a family owned, not corporate, shop. The traditional American small business. Their specialty is alternators, and they provide absolutely masterful work.

This place did not even know what starter went on my car. Wanted me to tell him what kind of starter was on the car. I had make model and engine size, still could not tell my what starter I needed. I'll stick to the junk yard before I go to this guy.
