I needed an emergency tune up and a quick one since I had appointments the day I went in. I called 2 other auto shops before calling Helms and they were they only one who said they could get it done that morning and in a timely fashion. Excellent work and I will be back!

Was busy. But took the time to help everyone. I have dealt with Helms after hours to aid people that have locked keys in their cars and he is just always helpful polite and professional.

Definitely recommend! Fast friendly service! Locked myself out of my house with no phone, no car keys, an spare house keys locked inside my car. An to top it off my stove was on inside my house. Had to use my neighbors phone to call Helms. They got to my house so fast, got into my car quickly. He was so friendly an kind didn't even charge me. Incredible service! I didn't even get the guys name that came to my house to help but he was great an would definitely recommend! Thank you so much again!

Helms ordered us a new key fob after we had one stolen, they cut the new spare emergency key and reprogrammed both fobs so now the old stolen fob will not work. Fast friendly service.

They had my car over 4 weeks. Haven t even started working on it. The owner will not answer the phone or return calls I left through voicemail. Don t Go HERE, unless you have an eanother way of traveling or a lifetime to wait!

Helms Automotive is a fantastic shop run by some extremely nice and honest folks. We were stranded on the highway traveling through Andalusia. Helms took us in with no notice and spent well over an hour helping to diagnose our issue. Unfortunately, it turned out to be more than a quick fix, but they were extremely helpful and charged a very reasonable fee for the time spent. If I ever needed a mechanic in Andalusia, I wouldn't hesitate to use Helms.

This was an awful experience for us. Helms Automotive kept our truck for three weeks waiting on Car Shield to complete the claim. His receptionists were very slow to return our calls or texts, and sometimes I was never contacted back about my requests. She said she would call Car Shield if she had time. She said she was busy. I waited for what seemed like forever in the office to talk to the lady at the desk while she laughed and talked with someone else. I was charged 194.00 for them to run a diagnostic. This is double what I paid at the dealership with my other vehicle. We had a horrible experience. I called multiple times, and the ladies in the office acted like they could care less that we were stressed. We finally paid the diagnostic fee and picked up my truck without it being fixed. I also called and left a message and also texted a message and asked if they could fix some shocks and get the tire out of 4 wheel drive. They never responded to this, so I did not get this fixed. I asked them to service it and change the oil. I don t know if it was serviced or not. We did not get an invoice or receipt for the work done. In addition, there was no sticker in the car showing that the oil was changed. I never talked to David Helms, but the people in the office were not professional, and I am so glad to finally have my truck back. We will not be going back to have any work done. The bottom line is that I was not treated as a customer. They knew I was upset, and they acted like they didn t care and didn t need my business. I still don t know why they charged us 194.00, but I can t bring myself to call or deal with them anymore. I was not given a receipt for the charges. I still do not know what we paid for, but I was told that I wouldn t get my key back to my truck until I paid the 194.00. I am glad to have this behind me. I think it's not a good place to go I've spent $400 waited a whole day besides the two weeks I waited to get the appointment and my air conditioner does not work the guy does not answer the phone and does not let you know bad service I will be getting my $ back

Top notch service with a quick response. I was in town for a couple of days and on my last day there, locked my keys in the car while visiting some friends. After trying unsuccessfully to unlock the car myself, I searched for some help online and found this guy. 20 minutes later he had my door open and I couldn't have been anymore impressed. I highly recommend Helms Automotive and Key to anyone looking for outstanding service provided with true professionalism.

My experience there wasn t good at all. At first I thought I was dealing with an honest guy willing to help. I needed a key to crank my car since I broke my original. And the first time or two i dealt with him, he seemed willing to go the extra mile to make sure I got the service I paid for. However, after two times of him trying to program the key, he pretty much avoided me and put me off for two weeks. Rather than be honest for whatever reason. This is the reason I rate it one star and that s being generous. It s completely unacceptable for any business owner to make up excuses to not deal with a customer. To make it worse, the issue wasn t resolved and I wound up going elsewhere. Wish I had done it in the first place cause they had me up and running in a day. At least they didn t make up excuses to avoid me or outright have one of their employees lie to me in order to cover for the owner. So I spent 3 weeks at Helms trying to get the service it took me one day to receive. I don t know where they learned customer service at, but where I come from, you don t lie or avoid a customer no matter what the reason is. Money and time that we re wasted that my car could ve been running. Oh well, lesson learned. My advice is don t deal with any place that won t shoot straight with you. Or hang up on you to dodge you. Not very professional at all in my opinion.

Bought a car not quite finished having a complete gasket replacement. I had never worked on this type car. My wife called and he came to the house to program 2 keys for us. Everywhere else we would have had to hired a wrecker or rent a car dolley from uhaul. Either of those would have been a minimum of $50 plus fuel and a truck to haul it myself not sure how much for someone to use their wrecker but I know it's more than that. So he saved us the towing and other fees by coming to the house and did the key programming very quickly. He even told the wife he would finish the car up for a very low rate. Which was very much appreciated. All the while the lady at the front desk and the Mr. David were both very nice and completely explained when i asked questions! Thanks to all who helped us out!

They had my Cadillac Escalade for seven months on a warrantee for my hybrid batteries. They never took the time to even inspect the vehicle during those seven months. I am in the process of suing them. Do not use them I have zero recommendations. David and Danny went above and beyond. They could have charged me more for the hours they put in, but were very conservative. Danny even fixed a possible secondary issue for free, which may or may not have been their fault. I did not ask for this, he just offered. Very impressed with their communication and willingness to get on the phone and talk about the issues. A+

I have to say that David and Chasity Helms are very professional, they listen to you and whatever problems yours having with your vehicle, they offer input and are above the game of the rest of work shops in Andalusia. Not trying to over charge you for services, I promise you this is David says you need something on your vehicle he is honest. Chasity is very professional in her job and helps you and does not ignore you. This is a company I hope stayed and builds a great relationship with the people of Covington County.Aaron O'Connell

David is so professional. I had a wreck and he took care of everything no problem. While I had it in the shop I asked him to look at the timing chain and he did a tune up also and went above and beyond to meet my needs and make care run like a pro!! He also found out the reason my car was using oil and fixed the problem. If you ever need mechanical work done I highly suggest Helms Automotive. YOU WILL NOT FIND A MORE HONEST MECHANIC

Truck broke down on the side of the road. Helms was recommended to us. We made contact and a deal. We were back on the road in under 30 mins. These guys are a life saver!

The only locksmith in the area and they are not available on weekends. I only hope you have a spare key at home and a friend to come get you and take you to get it. Because there are no cab companies to help you out either.

-Damages property and refuses to own up to mistakes.-Does not reimburse for dameges.-Failed to restore all bolts and fasteners that were on prior to maintenance.Attude was recieved when i called them out on the problem.-Dont let them work on your vehicle without taking pictures of everything.

Payed $160 to program a key in aug key broke by February then called to come back and fix then doesn t show up at all no call no email horrible customer service
