I've shopped here before when looking for used cars, but never bought one until this week when I helped a friend buy her car. The employees are all very nice and the purchase process was incredibly fast, painless and totally pressure-free. The salesman I dealt with was very clear that he is not on commission, yet he was still very helpful. The owner and his daughter run the office and they were both friendly and efficient. They've been in business this for 18 years, so they know what they are doing. I've literally spent more time checking out a Best Buy than it took to buy a car here.Just understand that this dealership sells USED CARS. They purchase them at wholesale and resell them for a reasonable, no-haggle price. They don't recondition the cars. They don't warranty them. They really know nothing about these cars - it's up to you do decide if it fits your needs and is in decent condition. The cars may have dents and dings and other problems. If you are looking for a warranty or to haggle over the price, or worry about every imperfection, then go elsewhere and pay more and deal with high-pressure salespeople. But if you need inexpensive transportation sold by friendly and efficient people, this is the place.

My family has been buying cars from Automart South for years, so when I was ready to buy a car It was a 2006 Toyota Camry. It was a fair deal I didn t feel scammed and they explained everything. I was able to pay it off in a short amount of time and even through COVID THEY WERE VERY UNDERSTANDING. Unfortunately I was in an accident with an irresponsible driver. I knew I wanted to come back to Automart South I purchased a 2011 Suburu Forrester for an amazing price and great mechanical condition. I couldn t be more happy. Anytime I need or want a car I can always depend on Automart South and they always provide great customer service. Kristen is always kind and very personable. To the salesman who I can t remember his name THANK YOU SO MUCH. Recommend 10/10

The owner of Automart South ( Phillip Roders ) has got to be one of the best car dealers around my area... I bought a vehicle from him about 3 weeks ago and after driving it for a few days we had to have if checked because it had an oil leak. We went back to talk to him about it and he is going to have it fixed. I have bought several vehicles from him and he is honest and a pleasure to do business with.

Did not buy a car, but the staff was very pleasant. They listened to what we were saying and did not try to push us to buy from them..

If I could give a zero I would. Purchased vehicle, the owner himself talked about how awesome the vehicle was and told stories about his 2 daughters would drive this car. Ilistened to stories on how much he spent on his oldest daughter s wedding and his other daughter works there after leaving the restaurant business. He stated how reliable this vehicle was and had no problems. Well, 2 days later check engine came on. It was downhill from there. He was going to help with some parts since we paid so much for the vehicle. Later, He acted like he had barely spoke to us, would not return calls. Shortly after, while driving to work the vehicle literally caught fire and burnt up. $9400 for the vehicle. This was the worst experience ever. The night purchased, he even got mad because we were trying to get the car to connect to phone after purchasing. Said that it something that can be done later. Also, only allowed to drive around a small circle. They state for insurance purposes, not allowed to take for inspection. How do they stay in business?? Pass on this place.

Never. He thought i couldn t afford the vehicle. He rushed me away. And when I saw another car on the lot he said oh no you don t want that I m telling you. At this point how do I know if I want anything from you now.

Absolutely terrible! Do NOT recommend. I went looking for car and i saw this mazda so i was looking at it and the guy comes out and locks it WHILE I M LOOKING AT IT. He did the same to my family members. He also said we close in 3 minutes they close at 3 and it was 2 so we had an hour but still was being very rude abt it.

I wouldn't recommend anyone go to this place to buy a car. Of course the first day that I went to get my 2015 Chevy Cruze the people were very nice but when I brought it home and tried to ask for a refund plus my car I traded for the car they flat out said no to me and said that I had to buy my car back from them to get it back! I had taken my Cruze to the shop near my house and they said that I had a white goo in the coolant! I have spent a lot of money trying to fix the car but now I can't fix the car anymore! Whatever you do DON'T get a car from this place! You will regret it! I sure have! Because I have been lied to mine and my husband's face!

Let me first say, I've NEVER been to a car lot! I've always bought from individuals. I had no idea what this place did to me wasn't normal! They allowed me to test drive the vehicles. But I was only allowed to go less than half a mile, if that. They said for insurance purposes, which made sense. I finally purchased a 2010 chevy equinox. I've had the car since late February. So far I've had to have a severe oil leak fixed TWICE! The cadylic converter was shot. The exhaust manifold was horribly cracked. The CV axles had to be replaced. Timing chain was bad and the car had partially jumped time. Drift shafts had to be replaced. I could keep going but whoever is reading this, I hope you get the picture. I paid $9,000 for this car. With financing, it became $12,000. I've spent $6,000 in two months on parts and labor. I'm so thankful I financed (I needed to raise my credit score) instead of paying out right. Had I paid out right. I would have a $9,000 vehicle broke down in my driveway. By financing I had the money to get these problems fixed. PLEASE stay away from this place. I don't care how desperate you are! You'll be up poo creek without a paddle if you go here. I honestly don't see how this place is even open! The vehicles look nice but under the hood their straight garbage. They also have a way of covering up the garbage (per my mechanic).

Jim and Kristin run a good business model. They are selling cars in wholesale condition to the public which saves customers money vs buying a front line vehicle. You must understand these cars have not been through the reconditioning process and are AS-IS. I have bought 2 cars from them and they have been extremely honest and willing to work with me as long as my requests are reasonable. Some of the other reviews seem to be people feeling they got an inferior product, remember these are NOT front line ready they are freshly traded units that have not gone through the shop process. I will definitely go see them next time I am in the market for an older unit for my children.

I bought a Ford Explorer from them a couple of months ago. Kristen and Jim were really great. The car had a little over 100K on in when I drove out. The price was right and the car has performed like a charm. The first thing I did was change the oil for AMSOIL, a 100% synthetic lube. Great people. Great car. No complaints.

I called them and they told me good bye before I was finished asking my questions. That was very unprofessional. They don't want to talk on the phone they don't want my business. They say 1st impressions is a makes or breaks it. It doesn't matter if it over the phone or in person. It's true with me. I will never set foot in the car lot. Because how they talk on the phone to me. I am handicap so it takes alot to get out. I was not paid to write this review.

Kristen was quick getting our paperwork together (we have 5 kids so we didn't want to have to sit and wait lol) and was very nice through the whole process!! Will buy here again!!

I recently bought a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. It drives smooth, got it at a great price, and Kristen was professional and fast with getting me in and out in no time.

This is the worst place to go. All their vehicles will need a motor or transmission within the first 300 miles you leave. I read some reviews and went ahead and gave them a chance. Worse mistake ever!! I have had the xterra 9 days which i have drove 2 times. It has been towed 3 times n has been in 4 shops in 9 days. After buying this vehicle for $5000 I have spent another $1000 on tow fees and fixes and now I am looking at $3600 for a new transmission. On a car all I got to do was drive it home twice. The sales guy flirts the whole time and guaranteed that his company will work with people the first days if something major happened with motor or transmission. Big Lie! The first problem i had was the radiator busted which in the nissan is a nightmare. They agreed to fix that after I paid towing of $200 they did not replace my radiator only doctored it up again. When I got it home white oily slim was still in coolant. Which I have kept all documentations for all repairs including pictures. Started a case with the BBB and will be filing in civil court. Cars are as is! But a dealership should disclose all major mechanical problems with the vehicle. This place is very good at covering problems up and their fixes only last a very short time. Please read reviews and don't buy a car from this place. I hate to see more people ripped off from this company

In November 2014 I purchased a 2005 Mitsubishi Endeavor with 150,000 miles. I selected the vehicle and we had the paperwork done very fast. I called my wife to come and get her truck. She arrived and loved it. After we got it home I put full synthetic oil and a new oil filter in it and it ran like new. We have been to Atlanta and several long drives in Alabama with no problems. It's a great truck for the price. Thanks Automart South. Oh, I almost forgot to mention that we got the title in the mail before Christmas. I never bought a vehicle and everything went this smooth.

Transmission went out after 6 days and they won't fix it or work on put the money to another vehicle. This has got to be a con. Keep friends and family away.

My experience was very positive. The staff were helpful and took time to answer questions. There were no force to sell or pressure to buy. The decision was left up to the buyer. I purchased a vehicle and did not feel cheated. I did comparison shopping before the purchase. I believe I got a good deal. Thanks.

Do NOT give these people your money!! You will most definitely be getting ripped off. I bought a car from here and it did great for the first two weeks. After that I have had nothing but problems. The guy told me it was one of the best cars on the lot and he would trust it for his sister or mother. If that was one of the best I would hate to see the others!

They buy cheap cars that don't work and prey on people that can't afford anything more. Lost my entire life savings on a car that does not work at all not (won't even start). They know how to rig up cars for it to seem decent, but will entirely break down before you get home. Speaking from experience because it was fine when I test drove (they won't let you take it on the interstate) and it broke down on my way home. Would not take the car back that day either

I bought an A4 Audi 2008. The day I bought it I took it to an oil change location to make sure oil was good. The oil was black and I had it changed and oil filter . 89.00The technician showed me it was leaking oil terribly. I had them replace oil gaskets,300.00.I had them put the car on the machine to read the dash light issues. Transmission was bad. I was told by Tim the lights were due to the cluster being bad and if they fixed it it would cause the mileage to reset? After I was told to bring it back and they would take care of it I drove back 24 miles to be told they never said that? So Jim Hardy got involved he is the owner. Jim was professional and bought the car back and was a gentleman. He was apologetic and I very much would do business here again but....next time will have car checked or I would not buy one.

Please read other reviews before going here!! If this is the only thing you read... RUN far away from this place.Bought a 2005 Audi from these crooks a few years back. Test driving it drove like a charm but it was priced at 7000 so i intended on walking away stating to the salesman i only had 5000 to spend. He immediately said he would take 5k for the car so i agreed to buy it.No later than 1 month later the transmission starts slipping.. hmmm that s strange, the car has low miles (who knows if this mileage was tampered with) and seems to be in good shape. I take the car to a mechanic and am confirmed that the car needs a new transmission... 7000 repair since it s a foreign car!! I knew repairs would be pricy since it s not American made but i did not expect the transmission to blow after 1 month. In short I was clearly sold a lemon and got played big time. Reading reviews it appears this happens often.STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! SPEND YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY ELSEWHERE!

Bought a 2004 Nissan Maxima at this dealership on a Monday. Car ran great for 200 miles then on Friday the alternator went out in it. Not only did that happen but right before the alternator went out (Thursday) the check engine light came on so I had it scanned at auto zone. It picked up three codes all that were sensors on the car. My thinking is these codes had been deleted and popped back up the next time the car scanned. DO NOT BUY from them car lasted less than 5 days. I only wisj I could rate this lower than a 1 star.Update on the worst car I have ever owned. Right at 100 days after owning we ran into transmission problems. We were going to get the transmission rebuilt or replaced and discovered that someone had put brake fluid in the transmission. For anyone that does not know what brake fluid does in the transmission is that it "fixes" a slipping transmission for a few thousand miles. Just so happen the car also only lasted a few thousand miles. This is the worst car I have ever owned. It was problem after problem with them. Seriously would not buy from them.

Everyone was great. Very helpful and willing to work out a deal. From the salesperson to the finance manager to the owner. Very happy overall! Revised...After owner sold several years ago, new staff is not nearly as attentive. Salesman never follows up with requests for info and when I actually went in, the vehicles I looked at all had issues. I will never go back.

Purchased a Honda Oddyssey from here in 2016(2500 down). While test driving it seemed to run fine. Within two weeks of purchase the vehicle started what I thought was the transmission slipping. I took it to Honda and had to spend another 2500 to have timing belt AND a leaky power steering pump replaced! I will not buy from them again.

I actually want to thank these guys for being so rude. I took my son there who had seen a mustang he liked, these guys were not interested in selling us a car. I had cash $$ and could have paid asking price but the car had four mixed matched tires and needed a top. My son really wanted the car but i refused to spend my money with these guys. Most of the cars on their lot were in bad shape, from oil leakes to knocking motors. When i see their advertising on craigslist i just keep scrolling. Please dont waste your time or money here.

This is by far the worst experience I ve ever had dealing with a dealership. I m scared to even drive this car due to the fact that the breaks shake the entire care so badly I feel like the engine is going to fall out when I get to the end of the exit ramp , they knew it and I also brought it s to their attention several times , ( reminder this is the very next morning after buying the car ) and said they will not buy the car back from me and didn t even offer to fix the problem till I called someone , and then called me a few days later and say they would wave the 200$ down payment fee so I could go fix the breaks, well the breaks rotors and pads and labor is over 400$ so ya the worst dealership in Alabama by far . I highly DO NOT! Recommend this place to anyone.
